To Whom It May Concern

Undoubtedly, my Mother’s untimely death was a shocking and devastating loss to our family. Her passing inevitably caused unbearable pain and sorrow that left a hole in our hearts and soul. My Mom was the matriarch of our family and the undeniable glue that kept us together.

As we prepared for Mom’s funeral services, it was without hesitation that Renee Swan-Willis was the only person I considered who possessed the right mix of capabilities to shepherd our family through Mom’s service. We imagined the event would be one of the most difficult times of our lives and needed a strong and compassionate Mistress of Ceremony to take the lead. While at the early stages of planning, we were unsure of how the service would be organized, but we knew unequivocally that we had no intention for it to be a somber occasion. We wanted a joyous Celebration of Life to honor my mother’s legacy, share her zest for life, and celebrate her incredible impact on all who knew and loved her.

Renee was not just a member of our Cochran Avenue Baptist Church family, but a cherished part of our lives. She was an active choir member, singing alongside my mother as Sopranos, and their bond grew into a friendship that was more like sisterhood. With our family’s 20-year history at Cochran, Renee became an extension of our family, always there for us.

Since the early days, I’ve known Renee as a woman of strong character and faith and a go-getter with solid business acumen. Growing up attending Cochran, I watched Renee evolve from being a choir member to a regular speaker and leader at our church. She frequently served as Mistress of Ceremony for church events. I would later learn of her financial prowess, which was indeed another impressive attribute she possessed. Without hesitation, I was confident Renee’s bright personality, professionalism, organizational skills, and, most of all, her warm and caring disposition would be the perfect match for this critical and sensitive role. I knew Renee had the skill set to help my family through our most profound time of need.

Renee delivered in spades.

She was instrumental in making my Mother’s funeral services lively, festive, and memorable. Renee led the service with her usual sense of humor, warmth, and love. Guests still inquire about the identity of the Mistress of Ceremony, commenting on her style and charm. My family will always be grateful for Renee’s service and support.

In closing, I strongly recommend Renee for any role serving as Mistress of Ceremony to lead a Celebration of Life for your loved one. Her combination of compassion, professionalism, and knowledge will be a welcome addition to your service planning team.
